USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) and EP (European Pharmacopoeia) standards, recommend the use of bioindicators during pulsed light sterilization processes of pharmaceuticals, drugs in vials, culture media, medical instruments and more.
What is pulsed light sterilization?
Pulsed light sterilization is a non-thermal surface sterilization technology that uses intense, short bursts of broad-spectrum light, rich in ultraviolet wavelengths, to inactivate microorganisms. Pulsed light is particularly effective for surface applications where direct exposure to the flashes is possible, including packaging materials, containers, equipment surfaces, and other areas accessible to light.
